Log mcPrivacy Policy
Log Mc is a work-and-rest logbook for Australian heavy-vehicle drivers. It is built around a simple idea: your logbook is yours. Your records live in your own iCloud, and we don’t run servers that collect, read, or sell your data.
- No analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers.
- No data is sent to any server we operate — we don’t operate any.
- Your logbook is stored in your Apple iCloud account, which we cannot read.
- The only outside services Log Mc uses are Apple’s own (sign-in, iCloud, Maps, notifications).
Log Mc is a work-and-rest calculator and assistant. It is not an Electronic Work Diary, not a system of record, and not a guarantee of compliance. It does not replace the paper National Driver Work Diary, which you must continue to complete. Final responsibility for fatigue compliance stays with you and your operator.

What information the app handles
- Your account. You sign in with Sign in with Apple. Apple gives the app a private identifier, and the name/email you choose to share (you may use Apple’s “Hide My Email” relay). This is used only to identify your logbook to you. We do not receive it on any server.
- Your logbook entries. The shifts, work and rest periods, vehicle details, odometer readings, and notes you record. These are stored on your device and synced through your own iCloud.
- Approximate location (optional). When you start work, take rest, or end a shift, the app can take a single location reading to auto-fill the suburb and (where you choose) estimate distance travelled. The coordinates and suburb become part of your own logbook entry. You can always type the location in by hand instead. Location is requested “While Using the App” only — never in the background.
- Face ID / biometrics. If you turn on app lock, Face ID is handled entirely by iOS on your device. The app never sees or stores your biometric data.
Where your data is stored
Log Mc uses Apple’s CloudKit private database
(iCloud.com.sukhdeep.Log-Mc). This is part of your personal iCloud
account. By design, the developer cannot access data in a user’s
private CloudKit database. If you are signed out of iCloud, your logbook simply
stays on your device.
Apple services we rely on
- Sign in with Apple — authentication.
- iCloud / CloudKit — storing and syncing your logbook across your own devices.
- Apple Maps — turning a location reading into a suburb name and estimating driving distance. The relevant coordinates are sent to Apple to perform this lookup.
- Apple notifications — fatigue and rest reminders are scheduled on your device.

What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your personal information.
- We do not use advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not build profiles of you for marketing.
Your choices and rights
- Location: deny or revoke the permission any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. The app still works; you just type locations in.
- Delete your data: deleting a logbook entry removes it. Deleting the app and removing its data from iCloud (Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage) removes your logbook entirely. You can also email us to request help with deletion.
Children
Log Mc is a professional tool for licensed drivers and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
